3. A Writer's Reference

For success in college, no skill is more critical than writing; it’s the very core of a student’s academic experience. Tested and trusted, A Writer’s Reference is an essential tool for students who are strengthening habits and skills that will support them throughout college.
In an April 2014 survey of first-year writers, 75 percent reported that using a Hacker handbook made them a more confident academic writer. What’s more, A Writer’s Reference has been a powerful tool for change across college campuses—helping to create a culture of writing at many schools by supporting a common language for talking about academic writing. In that way, A Writer’s Reference is uniquely positioned to help transform attitudes about the value of writing instruction and the role that writing plays in academic work and in higher learning.
With this eighth edition of the handbook, author Nancy Sommers invites you to be part of a community of those who teach and assign writing; who believe that critical reading, analytical writing, responsible research, and clarity are at the center of effective writing across the academy; and who use the nation’s best-selling and most responsive handbook to support the development of the college writer.

THE SECRET POSSESSION THat WILL MAKE YOU LOOK LIKE A PRO!

ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS YOU SHOULD HAVE!

One of the most important things we should all have in this generation is a website or a blog. Appearing professional before customers is important. Customers want to know more about you, they want to know if you're reliable or not. Anything you're into, you should make it appear professional. Whether you're a business owner, a writer, or someone who render certain services, you need a website. There's a new thing in town now, it's called an online portfolio. Just like my website www.tobstardaniello.tk. An online portfolio allows you to display a lot of services you offer, your job experience, your other social media platform links, products you sell, your education etc in a single place. This increases your chance of getting called by customers. These days if you want to get hired, companies type your name on Google. They search for your social media accounts to know who you are through your online behavior. The best thing for you to do is to get a website which will be displayed first so they'll visit it (which you'd have designed to show them what you want them to see) instead of going into your personal social media account first. It's really important to have it.

In this generation, a website is like building a house online. You structure the house and decorate it the way you want. You show people what you want them to see and get them to take actions they'll favour you. For those who sell physical products, what's best for you to do is to display the products online. You know why Amazon is the #1 market on the internet; they display their products virtually which will entice their customers.

Displaying products Physically, you may not be able to tell the customers all the information they need to know about it, you'll instead be arguing about the prices, but if It’s online, all the information the customers need to know would be displayed alongside the product. This will even favor business startups who sell physical product. It'll give your business a professional taste. Customers don't see those with a online ground shabbily. Authors and writers are one of those who need to own a website. In this generation where people need freelance writers than never before. They need people to write contents for their blog, why don't you utilise this opportunity  by owing a website. You see, people won't hire you unless they know your worth, how can they know your worth? It's by showing them who you are! When you update their blog regularly as a writer, you display your writing skills, people will want to hire you because they now know your value.

Benefits of owing a website

1. Making money
A lot of people in underdeveloped countries don't know that people make money with their website. Apart from the fact that you'll be seen as professional in their field through your website. You'll also make money by displaying Google ads on your website. In fact, there are other means of making money through your website  like advertising sponsored post, copying and pasting ads, link shortner etc. Where people really earn these days is through their website and I don't want you to miss out.

2. it’s cost effective
It’s cheaper to advertise your products online than print and it enables you to make on-the-fly changes, given that you are using a CMS.

3. Wider Demographic Reach
Unlike having a local brick and mortar establishment, a business Website transmits your business profile around the world, permitting for enhanced exposure and sales, due to a wider demographic reach.

Having a Website provides your consumers with around-the-clock availability in terms of access to products, information etc. This type of 24 hours a day, seven days a week service definitely generates more profits than that of a traditional storefront.

6 Consumer Convenience
In branching off from the above noted benefit, being available to meet the needs of consumers at any time day or night provides added convenience, giving them access to products and information whenever they need.

CHASING THE WIND // Tobstar Daniello

...desires are devils we carry on our head
they're called dreams by our tongue
are we not in shackles?

for life is poetry
where design of nature and each breath
sets off the fire of glee in our soul
and the lessons written on the stairs of time prepare us for the world beyond
but the devils on our head has stolen it

slowly fading from the misery of chasing the sun
& then I realised we are all wind chasers
sweating to make our sky golden
& sleep in a room like the halls of heaven
but where will they be when our eyes close in death?

Everytime I escape the ditch in time
I feel dreams are curses
to keep toiling, searching for life
when life is no where except within
why chasing shadows?
where will they be when our eyes close in death?

the hands of a man can give without taking back?

Painted desires
in the cloth of dreams.

You're still breathing.

ONLY LOVE // Tobstar Daniello

ONLY LOVE

How many bridges do we have to burn
And how much blood do we have to shed?

What happens when her dimples turn to wrinkles and pimples?
Weren't you drawn because of that?
And what happens when his pocket is a dessert?
When his hands isn't palm oil but blood
Or what happens when the light you see outside isn't reflecting within?

How many tears do we have to bathe with
And how much more do we have to take?

Why do we keep chasing the wind while we scream for breath?

We keep falling in love but can't find one to stand in, why?

Why should we hate who we are and start filtering it?

When every turn is filled with stones and your sky is grey
What happens to your breath?

What happens when your sky runs out of every single shooting star
And your land runs out of soil

When happens when your pool runs out of every single life
Will your life run out of smile?

What happens when your world is burning down as fierce as a volcano?

if only there was only love
A man would ignore the black dot in the middle of a white circle

if only there was only love
We would search for a ounce of light in the darkest of darkness

or if not love, what else can look into the naked soul of man and overlook the darkness?

If only there was only love
The air in our lungs would be enough

if only there was only love
we would find peace in every plate life put on our table.

She never truly lived // Tobstar Daniello

She was born with a blank mind. Growing up, she loved kicking things, her dad noticed and got her a ball. She was just six. One day she saw guys playing football on the field. It was a free soccer game, she went there to join. She played a bit and a guy came in and said she wasn't good enough and afterall she's just a girl. As a fragile being, she went home and cried. That registered in her heart as she grew, she never set her legs on the field again

When she got into college, her friends complained about her walking style, her mode of dressing and her relationship status. It was 2035 and it's not socially balanced for a 16 year old to be a virgin, you'll look odd. Well, she was a reserved girl but she tried to fit in. So she got into a relationship despite she didn't want to, in fact her friends arranged the guy for her. She didn't really like him. She changed everything to fit in and please her friends and also the society.

When she was about to study philosophy in the university, her parents didn't allow it. They believed it's not a course that can really feed someone because the world is into entrepreneurship, technology and science. She put forth her argument about being a curious being, they rejected it. They said she either quit school or go for what they want for her. She had no choice but to fit in, she followed the decision of her parents.

After school, she brought home a guy and introduced him to her parents. The guy was looking good but they didn't love the ethnic group he came from and they said he wasn't wealthy enough to take care of her. She claimed she was really in love with him, they didn't care. She cried bitterly but well, she had no choice but to please her parents.

She searched for a rich guy from a different ethnic group. She got married and had kids. She worked in a big company and earned a good pay. She was successful but she wasn't happy. She wasn't happy with her job, she wasn't happy with her relationship, she wasn't happy with her life either. She felt her life has been taken away from her. She felt empty and sad anytime she look back at her past. The money wasn't enough.

When she was 75, she was diagnosed of a terrible disease. On her hospital bed, she wasn't sad because she was about to loose her life, she was sad because she never truly lived.
